Hi Reader Happy Friday! I just updated one of my most popular blog posts with new information and even more recommendations for traveling with oversized luggage on Japan's bullet trains (Shinkansen). People always ask:
I get these questions often from people who are about to travel to Japan, which makes sense since you'll likely take the bullet train at least once on your trip. Yes, some travelers prefer to ship their luggage ahead to their next hotel. However, depending on where you ship, it can take a minimum of two days for your luggage to arrive at the next location (ex., ship from Tokyo hotel on Tues --> arrives in Kyoto on Thurs). So while that works for some people, others prefer to keep their luggage with them the entire time. And if that's you, then this post is for you.
I hope this clears up some of your questions about traveling with oversized luggage on the Shinkansen! With love, Remi |

Watch Video I filmed this video during the last week of April, right after peak cherry blossom season in Aomori. However, I was pleasantly surprised by just how many...
Hi Reader, This update is long overdue, since Japan has been my main focus for the past few years, and then I seemingly came back from a longer-than-expected summer hiatus, just to come back full force, posting California travel content. 😅 So, what's up with that? Long story short: I realized I wanted to broaden my travels to Japan, California, and beyond. Why? Because while I still think there's so much for me to learn about my Japanese heritage through travel, I also want to appreciate what...
Hey Reader, A new vlog is available on my channel! Have you ever been to Encinitas, CA? It's a cozy, laid-back coastal area located about 1.5- 2 hours from LA in North San Diego county. I drove down there for the day to meet up with my friend. It was my first time visiting, and I absolutely loved it. If you're looking for a place with pure laid-back Southern California beach town vibes, then this is the place for you. 🌊 In this video, you’ll get to see how our day went and what it’s like to...
