I've been somewhere 🌸

Hey Reader,

I’ve been in Japan for the past few weeks. And until now, you're one of the first ones to know exactly what I've been up to.

No posts. A few(?) stories. No check-ins.

Just me, my camera, and whatever city or town I happened to be in that day.

If you’ve followed along with me for a while, you already know how I get when I’m in Japan. My phone basically becomes a GPS, a camera, and not much else.

The moments I’m not actually traveling between places, I’m sitting somewhere people-watching or just… absorbing everything around me.

I wasn’t scrolling.

I wasn’t checking in.

I was just there.

And honestly, I was surprised by how okay I felt about that.

For a few weeks, I was completely in my own little world, and it was exactly what I needed.

On this trip, I got to explore many more areas outside Tokyo, which was something I’d been wanting to do for a while.

It was incredible.

It was also exhausting.

I’m not someone who loves stacking days back-to-back, but with limited time in each spot, it was kind of unavoidable.

What I made sure to do, though, was be fully present once I arrived somewhere.

No half-in, half-out. Just me and wherever I was.

I’m back home now and, not gonna lie, the reacclimation has been real.

Turns out decompressing from weeks of long travel days AND getting used to having time to actually look at my phone again is its own kind of adjustment.

But I’m on the other side now; my footage is unloaded, and I am so ready to share everything with you.

✨ A full content wave is coming to YouTube and Instagram, so if you’re not already following there, now’s the time.

Here’s what’s coming:

The highlight reel — live now on YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels. A first look at what’s to come from this Japan trip. (watch here)

Full vlogs from the trip, dropping over the coming weeks and months (I have a lot to share! 😅). Each one focused on a different area, so you actually get something useful, not just a vibe dump.

Photo carousels from places I think you’ll want to save for your own future trips.

Written guides — the practical stuff. Where I stayed, how I got around, what I ate, what I’d do differently.

This is the part where I also just say: thank you. Genuinely. For sticking around while I go quiet, meander, and live life. It means more than you know.

I hope what’s coming makes the wait worth it, and I hope it helps you whenever your own Japan adventure comes around.

Okay. Go watch the reel. 🎬

Until next time,

Remi

Hey Reader, Okay, so I definitely didn't mean to go on hiatus for a couple of months, but here we are! I'm back with a new YouTube video. Watch Video Excuse the choppy editing, dirty camera screens, and random hair clip next to me in the first clip (😅), but I just wanted to pick up my camera and give you an update on where I've been and why I was gone for so long! This summer has been busy! Both personally and on the backend business side of things. But today, I decided to pick up the camera...

Summer Book Recs | Remi's Reads for all things books

Hi Reader, These warm summer months always tend to have me gravitate towards specific types of books. Ones that tend to be either shorter, faster-paced, or that completely transport me to an ideal summer setting (like a vacation with friends or renting a cabin by a lake to read and swim). If that's your vibe, I just posted a new "Remi's Read" update on Patreon that lists five summer reading recs + what's on my summer TBR. You can find the full post linked below. Hi Reader, This week I shared something a little different: a vlog of what my life actually looks like at home in California — not a Japan trip, not a travel guide, just real life between adventures. Watch the California vlog here If you’ve been wondering where the Japan travel guides from my spring trip are, don’t worry — they’re coming, just taking a bit longer than expected. Look for those at the end of July/August. In the meantime, I wanted to show more of the in-between: what I’m up to,...
